Yup, there’s an awful lot of Heidi right now. Shrinking violet this girl most certainly is not. Miss Allen is currently campaigning to force the British government into accepting ever more child migrants from continental Europe. That much alone explains her ubiquitous presence on the BBC.
As Allen yet again explained her deep concern for unaccompanied migrant children, UKIP’s migration spokesman asked for her thoughts on the 100,000 children currently living in temporary accommodation right here in the UK.
Probably you won’t be surprised to hear that Allen batted that rather awkward question into the long grass of the Newsnight studio. Effete presenter Evan Davis was...well his usual effete self.
When pressed as to why the UK should go to such extraordinary lengths to ‘rescue’ migrant children currently residing in places as dangerous as Italy and France, Allen mumbled something about the dangers of landing in Lesvos…
That a significant number of parents of these migrant children materialise once their offspring have secured a berth within the welfare states of western Europe is but a minor point. That a disturbing proportion of these 'vulnerable minors' turn out to be men in their 20's and in some cases their 30's is but a minor point.
That a significant number of these children are used as nothing more than stalking horses by cunning and very cynical adults is but a minor point. That the vast majority travel with huge swathes of extended family members and friends is but a minor point. It is also true that by pursuing this line of 'activism' Allen and friends are fully legitimising the actions of people smugglers throughout the continent.
Then again the migrants are always at least two steps, usually three ahead of fuzzy Liberals and always have been. Thus while passports are routinely 'lost,' mobile phones note are always retained.
'Shaky' would be the polite way to describe her plans for the migrants once upon British soil. Apparently Allen had not thought that far ahead. This, after, all is about accumulating political capital, about appeasing the Guardian and their televisual counterparts at the BBC. Why worry about the ramifications?
For a moment I swear it could have been Yvette Cooper sitting there pouring out her large and very bleeding heart about Syrian children. Heavens know what the Labour MP would have made of her ideological sister’s outpourings.
Migrant children are Cooper’s territory. She owns the rights.
Recall if you will that this most erratic of career politicians offered to board and feed migrant children in her own commodious London home not so long ago. It hasn’t happened. But it’s the thought that counts.
And now it seems virtue signalling has been picked up by the Tories, or at least Miss Allen. Showing concern for migrants and in particularly migrant children has long been a badge of honour amongst the Liberal-Left. Actually housing them, backing up words with action, that’s a different matter altogether as Geldof, Cumbernatch and Cooper have clearly demonstrated.
Allen dodged the difficult questions with all the aplomb of a Lefty. She avoided the thorny issue of just who will foot the estimated £100 million bill for the migrants in a way that would have had Cooper’s full approval.
And she certainly did not want to be reminded about the British children desperately waiting to be housed – children who will simply be leapfrogged over in the queue for housing and resources by her cherished Syrians.
Just why is Allen prioritising the welfare of migrants over Britain’s homeless children? Easy. Concern for migrant children is a high value signifier – it will almost certainly get you airtime and publicity – certainly in the Lefty-Liberal media.
Meanwhile concern for British children is considered a ‘low signifier’ – very noble in itself but highly unlikely to gain you credit with the Islington set.
I have no idea how or why Allen got herself onto a shortlist as a Conservative MP. But one would hope that the good folk of South Cambridgeshire Conservative association are asking themselves some pretty searching questions right now.
One would also hope the voters of South Cambridgeshire are noting this most cynical display of political posturing and will vote accordingly next time round.
In common with a growing number of allegedly right of centre politicians, Allen comes across as nothing more than an opportunist at best, a Lefty-Liberal infiltrator at worst.
Allen is typical of a new breed of supposed right of centre politicians who, like their leader David Cameron, faithfully follow the edicts of the left—wing media to the letter.
But little by little they are outing themselves. If you wish to identify a crypto-Liberal masquerading as a Tory, then look no further than the raft of supposed Tory MPs currently vociferously supporting Britain’s membership within the EU.
That any genuine Tory would vote to belong to a project that propagates an incessant Lefty-Liberal agenda tells its own story. They also wish to see Britain gradually surrender its sovereignty to an unelected gang of European social-democrats. Mrs Thatcher would be turning in her grave.
All of which brings me to the European Union referendum. Now I have no idea if Heidi Allen will be voting ‘in’ on June 23. But I can offer a pretty good guess.
I know it’s going out on a limb here, but what are the odds that migrant-loving Allen, an MP who seems to assume that unlimited migration into the UK can be paid for with the socialist money tree – what’s the betting she’s “in?”
Pretty safe to assume this ‘conservative’ MP is an enthusiastic believer in Euro-fascism. That’s something else she has in common with her ‘socialist’ sister, Yvette Cooper.
Heidi Allen and Yvette Cooper. Well can you spot the difference?
David Cameron is an SJW, apparently >>>
