“Mexicans are Rapists.”
The Tweet could not have been clearer. Just three words. Probably you’ve heard these words yourself repeated ad infinitum throughout the whole gamut of the western Liberal media. Or perhaps you’ve been on a gap year to the Amazon…
Hmm. On second thoughts it would take a lot more than the Amazon forest to stop these people from spreading their propaganda and spin. But I digress. Back to Twitter.
You will hardly be surprised to learn to whom the tweeter of this highly original meme actually attributed these words to. Why, Donald Trump…
As an academic and thus an adherent to not only rigorous scrutiny, but logic too, I couldn’t resist putting in my two penneth’s worth.
“Guide me please to source of the quotation,” tweeted I in full ball-busting professor mode, the tape script of Trump’s original comments upon which this spurious claim is based, open in the adjoining window of my laptop.
I rubbed my hands together. For when it comes to President Trump and the mainstream Liberal media smear campaign, only cursory scrutiny is required to debunk the majority of their hysterical claims.
“Okay. He never said that. But you know what he meant.”
Ha! Such swift progress! Already! My CNN-fed tweeter had made a Yuge confession and I had yet to even engage first gear!
But what did he mean then? I cut and pasted the paragraph from which the infamous ‘Mexican’ remark had emanated. For those of a Liberal disposition this could only mean one thing: trouble. Yup, I had actually taken the trouble to read the context in which the remarks were made.
Did the Tweeter realise that Trump had opened his remarks by specifically referring to the ‘bad’ people that cross the US-Mexico border - a high proportion of who are indeed involved in drug cartels and associated crime?
Not that the Liberal media have much time for context. They had themselves a smear, a powerful one at that and no amount of facts were going to persuade their oily hands to let go of it any time soon.
“Okay, He wasn’t talking about all Mexicans then.”
Eureka! We really were making progress. As I calmly presented the facts, my anti-Trump tweeter was conceding ever more ground. Amazing what you can do when you take the trouble to fact-check the Liberal media.
“But you’d have to agree he’s not a nice person.”
Having not met the man myself and having virtually my entire knowledge of him fed through the prism of a partisan media that hates the man’s guts, I had to admit that I had no idea at all as to the quality of Mr Trump’s character – good or bad.
When I guided the misinformed tweeter to a link which reported on Mr Trump donating $10,000 towards a man’s cancer treatment and a similar report in which the President engaged his own private jet to enable a young cancer sufferer to travel to meet a top specialist, the tweeter went eerily quiet.
Fed no doubt on a diet of spiteful anti-Trump rhetoric from CNN, The Guardian, The BBC, The Huffington Post and others, my newfound friend was being forced – possibly for the very first time - to consider not only the basis but the veracity of his prejudice towards the 45th President.
“Yeh well, I just hope he uses the Presidency to do some good.”
Success! We had moved from irrational hatred based upon the grudges and prejudices of Liberal media hacks to a much more considered even sophisticated opinion - and all in just a few tweets.
One SJW saved. Just a few hundred million left.
As institutions like the BBC insist on pre-empting Trump’s motivations, twisting his words, maligning his character, misrepresenting his actions, all with the sole purpose of inflaming the minds of their compliant viewers, voices of reason and moderation are rare indeed.
Well I for one am not buying into their gutter journalism nor their bitterness. Like all haters, the western Liberal media will eventually be consumed by precisely their own hatred, aggression and ill-will. Trump knows it. I know it. You know it.
And now, thanks to Twitter, so does a Social Justice Warrior. Hallelujah.
