Call me old fashioned but I prefer balance. Ok show me as many pictures of drowned Syrian children as you like, but also show me pictures of raped and battered Swedish and German girls too. Just in the interests of balance you understand.
Can't wait to see Frei's investigation into the Clinton finances. Or how about the many allegations of sexual abuse by Mr Clinton and his wife's alleged cover-ups of those offences? Should make very interesting viewing.
Objectivity in news reporting? How last century. How quaint.
I actually don’t give a damn about who sits in the White House. I’ve never voted and never will. As far as I’m concerned, with politicians it’s just a question of degree in terms of ego and corruption. But I do give a damn about fairness.
I have to confess I felt a little bit sorry for one of the channel’s most virtuous cheerleaders as I watched The Mad World of Donald Trump tonight. Poor Matt Frei. He was mad. He was very, very mad. Clive Anderson’s little brother - ex-public school, Oxbridge and BBC - looked like he wanted to throw his toys out of the pram.
Watching democracy in action gave this member of the metropolitan elite a horrible taste in his Oxbridge educated mouth. Fighting an overwhelming urge to display his intellectual superiority and scream ‘racists’ or ‘bigots’, Frei had to bite his lip throughout the whole programme. Not in Islington now comrade.
Indeed, the poor guy looked genuinely puzzled. How could these people vote for somebody not from his own circle of metropolitan elitists? Frei just couldn’t work it out.
That ordinary people have no connection with his own little group of Ivy League/Oxbridge political and media elitists baffled the poor man to such an extent I began to fear for his health. With no one to hear his pleas he started talking under his breath, to the camera, scared that his elitist opinions might be overheard.
Frei just couldn’t comprehend that Trump talks a language that people understand.
The fact the Republican candidate makes mistakes actually makes him more, not less human. Donald Trump’s appeal lies in the fact that he’s not afraid to speak his mind and he, like a growing number of people, have had enough of PC roundheads and their anti-nation, ant-Christian, anti-white rhetoric
By now Frei’s head was spinning. Could people really vote for a candidate outside his own clique? But I went to Oxbridge, people like me and the Clinton’s have an unalienable right to govern. It’s the natural order.
Always revealing, watching someone out of their comfort zone. And Frei was way out of his.
If surrounded by fellow elitists in the warm and cosy studios of Channel 4, Frei and his ilk are all too ready to sneer at what they perceive to be the vulgarity of white working class America. Or Britain. Doesn’t matter to Channel 4. So long as they’re white. And working class.
But when said plebs happen to be standing just a few feet away and his fellow elitists are nowhere in sight to echo back his own prejudices, Frei goes all quiet.
Oh yes he wrinkles his little nose by way of expressing his disgust with these low-lifes, but like the rest of the moral cowards in the mainstream-media, hasn’t the nerve to unleash his real hatred and intolerance.
Okay so The Mad World of Donald Trump was always going to be massively biased and disingenuous, but the question was, just how biased?
Very, very, very biased.
Well let’s start with money. Frei certainly seems to have a problem with money. His fascination regarding Trump’s wealth verged on the obsessive. Is it now a crime to have money? Because if it is, Frei’s six-figure salary from Channel 4 together with tasty piece of London real estate doesn’t exactly make him a pauper.
Having established that Trump is a filthy capitalist, Frei bizarrely took some effort to establish that the Republican frontrunner is not as rich as he ‘boasts.’ Make your mind up!
What’s the betting that Frei, in common with his fellow champagne socialists down Islington way, has got a lot more money than he would have us believe? People in glass houses… But I digress.
Things got even more desperate when the documentary told us that Trump had actually gone bust at one point, lost every cent. But then he bounced back again. Right. So let me get this straight, Donald Trump picked himself up off the floor and bounced back?
So resilience and determination are now negatives? Really? Not easy keeping up with metropolitan fashions for those of us in the provinces.
The more the mainstream media try to destroy him, the more popular Trump becomes yet Frei and friends, our intellectual superiors, haven’t yet worked it out. Come on Matt, go figure. You can do it.
As drug related crime. prostitution and kidnapping increase expotentially in and around The United States' southern border, who else but a cosseted member of the Islington-set could so easily dismiss the legitimate concerns of citizens on the front line, citizens whose lives are blighted daily by open border policies?
Matt Frei could. All too easily.
Tellingly for a television channel dripping in resources, this programme never did manage to find a smoking gun let alone even a water pistol. But smear it so very dearly wanted to. Had Donald Trump ever run over a cat? Dropped litter? Parking fine? Doh!
But the piece de resistance had to be the rape claim alleged by Trump’s former wife, Ivana in the distant past – a claim that was subsequently withdrawn.
After their total blackout of the Muslim sex attacks in Cologne and elsewhere it was good to see Channel 4 finally taking an interest in rape. Better late than never…
And when Frei turned whimperingly to the camera to complain about the injustice of being 'mocked,' by Trump, the urge to slap his smug, metropolitan face was simply overwhelming.
So, you don't agree with mocking people Mr Frei? Erm, ok. I'll need a few minutes to take that one in.
If I didn't know better I'd say the physician's own medicine tasted decidedly sour.
All this from a programme proudly proclaiming to portray Trump’s ‘hypocrisy.’ I rest my case……
